The next four club meetings will involve a lot of member participation. At the February meeting, we will work out the details and assign tasks to volunteers.
In March we will focus on potting mixes and try some tests with cuttings and different mixes.
In April, we would like to assign 3 beautiful Green Island Figs to three teams and launch a friendly competition. Which team will create the best bonsai?
At our May meeting, members are invited to bring a tree that you can prune or wire. This is a good time to get your trees on track and ready for our next show.
Our last meeting of the year, June 8, is a backyard barbecue, hosted by Deborah Sutcliffe. Bring a tree to prune or wire—this is still a good time to re-pot or carve deadwood.
We'll spend half-hour or so looking at great videos about wiring and pruning conifers and broadleaf trees. Many show progressions.
Our supplier is offering Mica pots for 10% off wholesale orders until March 31, if we accrue more than $500-worth. Details on how to order will be provided at the meeting.
Please bring items to donate to the raffle if you have something bonsai-related you can donate to the club. If you have an item you need help with or for Show and Tell, please bring it along.
Guests, please register with the President so that we may look after you better.
Our meetings feature presentations by fellow members who have volunteered to teach, inform, entertain and inspire us with a presentation, workshop, demonstration, a guest lecturer/presenter or some other great offering that is bonsai related. We will add more details as they are available, so check back often and save the date.
