1. Health Check and Care

• Ensure the tree is in optimal health.

• Inspect for pests and diseases, and treat as necessary.

• Provide balanced watering, fertilization, and proper sunlight.

2. Pruning and Shaping

• Trim branches to refine the overall shape.

• Remove any dead or damaged foliage.

• Wire branches if necessary to achieve the desired form.

3. Cleaning and Detailing

• Clean the trunk, branches, and leaves.

• Remove dust and debris from the foliage.

• Use a soft brush to clean the bark and expose fine details.

4. Soil and Pot Preparation

• Refresh or replace the top layer of soil for a neat appearance.

• Clean the pot, removing any dirt or stains.

• Ensure the pot complements the tree aesthetically.

5. Moss and Ground Cover

• Apply a layer of moss or suitable ground cover to enhance the presentation.

• Trim and arrange the moss neatly around the base of the tree.

6. Positioning and Balance

• Check the tree’s position in the pot, ensuring it is balanced.

7. Final Inspection

• Conduct a thorough final inspection, looking for any imperfections.

• Make last-minute adjustments to foliage, wiring, or positioning.

8. Transport Preparation

• Secure the tree for transport to prevent damage.

9. Documentation and Identification

• Prepare labels or identification cards with the tree’s details.

• Include information such as species, age, and any significant history.

10. Display Setup

• Arrange the tree on the exhibition stand, ensuring proper lighting and viewing angles.

• Add any additional display elements, such as accent plants or stones, to complement the bonsai.
