We’re excited to introduce a Peer Group Analysis to help you and your trees reach new heights! This is a unique opportunity to showcase your bonsai and receive constructive feedback in a supportive, collaborative environment. Here’s why you should participate:
Sharing your tree for analysis creates a learning experience for everyone. Your bonsai may highlight techniques, challenges, or solutions that inspire others, while the feedback you receive could open new doors to refine your tree’s design.
We understand that sharing your work can feel intimidating, especially if you’re new or unsure about your skills. Remember, every expert was once a beginner. Our club is built on mutual respect and encouragement, and this analysis is designed to nurture growth—not criticism.
Sometimes, we’re too close to our work to see its potential. A fresh set of eyes can reveal design possibilities you hadn’t considered, helping you unlock the hidden beauty of your tree.
By participating, you contribute to a collective learning experience. Your tree, regardless of its stage of development, can inspire others. Imagine the impact your tree might have on someone else’s journey!
Whether your bonsai is a decades-old masterpiece or a tree just beginning its journey, it has value. Sharing its story and current state is part of the art and the joy of bonsai.
Simply visit this link and send us a description of your tree by January 6, 2025. Include any questions or areas you’d like feedback on, and we’ll take it from there. Submit your tree here.
Let’s embrace this opportunity to learn, share, and grow as a community. Your tree matters, and so does your voice. We look forward to seeing your submission and growing together as bonsai artists.
Joe will discuss what they did, how they structured their workshops and exhibit, and how they celebrate their history with examples of showcasing “Legacy Trees” at their shows.
Internet sensation, or valuable technique? Scott discusses the “Trunk Chop.”
Why is this a thing? What is the purpose of doing this, other than to amaze and amuse the uninitiated that happen into our bonsai gardens? Sure you can do this to any bonsai living in Florida, but does it have a place in Zone 3?
Along with some other examples, Scott will showcase a live tree 6 months after its “Trunk Chop”, and where it can be taken from here.
We’ll go over our overall aspirations, outline our curation criteria, invite everyone to submit their entries, and establish timelines for planning and organization.
Do you have something bonsai-related you no longer need that you can donate to the club? Please bring them. Raffles are a fun way to acquire new items and also help raise funds for the club.
